Safari Extreme by Abdul Samad Al Qurashi is a men's fragrance built from a layered note pyramid: a bright opening of raspberry, saffron, mandarin, bergamot, lily-of-the-valley, magnolia, lime blossom, thyme and lilac moves into a floral-resin heart of peach, olibanum, ylang-ylang, Bulgarian rose, jasmine, tuberose, violet, nutmeg and carnation, and rests on a base of vanilla, sandalwood, woods, leather, suede, iris, amber, musk and clove. That mix produces a woody, powdery-vanilla core with warm spicy and sweet accents and a faint leather thread. Our take
I like Safari Extreme a lot: the vanilla, creamy iris and powdery woods create a plush, slightly sweet foundation that carries the florals well. The saffron and spices give the opening some character without overwhelming the mix, though the leather is subtle and will be missed by those expecting a raw animalic note. Performance leans toward strong sillage and long wear for most people, which fits my experience. I reach for this in cool weather and at night; it feels formal and well put together rather than casual.
