The Bottle

Authentic Man comes in a tall, broad rectangular bottle with rounded lower corners and angled shoulders, its pale yellow liquid visible through the transparent-looking body. A large dark circular-looking cap sits above the clear-looking neck, while the dark front label has a woven-looking texture and stitched-looking border. We find the result distinctive and memorable.

Original or Clone

Clement Gavarry’s credit gives Authentic Man its clearest reason to buy the original: this is a named perfumer’s composition, while each interpretation is defined by its attempt to reproduce it. The bottle adds a second, modest argument, with its large dark cap and textured-looking label giving the release more presence than a plain rectangular bottle. We think the original is the more defensible purchase, though choosing an interpretation remains reasonable; that judgment rests on authorship and presentation, not on any claim about measurable performance.
