Fierce is an aromatic woody composition that opens on a bright citrus-green mix of lemon, orange, petitgrain and sea notes with a spicy fir and cardamom lift, moves through a herbal floral heart of rosemary, lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, sage and rose, and settles on a dry base of musk, vetiver, oakmoss, Brazilian rosewood and sandalwood. Launched by Abercrombie & Fitch in 2002 for men and created by Bruno Jovanovic and Christophe Laudamiel, it reads as a fresh, clean woody scent with strong aromatic character. The work enjoys wide popularity: it holds a 4.24/5 average from 4,197 votes and roughly 50% of voters marked it "love".
Our take
I like Fierce for what it is: a clean, straightforward masculine scent that smells like a fresh shower with woody skin. The citrus-fir opening is energetic and the woody-musk base is familiar and easy to wear, which explains the strong fan support. What annoys me is the plastic, synthetic edge and hit-or-miss performance; projection and longevity can be very inconsistent on my skin. I reach for it for daytime and warm-weather wear, but I would not pick it for long evenings or formal events where lasting power matters.
