Abercrombie & Fitch Oud Essence

The Bottle

Oud Essence comes in a mostly rectangular bottle with straight sides, squared shoulders and slightly rounded lower corners. Very dark brown or amber-looking liquid fills the body, while gold lettering and linework identify the Private Selection presentation. The large black cylindrical cap has a mottled surface and a narrow gold band. It is conventional rather than memorable.

Original or Clone

The case for the original rests first on its standing: two houses have tried to reproduce this amber, oud, fresh-spicy fragrance. That attention makes Oud Essence a reference point, though it does not settle which interpretation suits a particular reader.
