Composed around a warm spicy core, Oud & Spice (Acqua di Parma, 2021) opens on a fruity-rose mix of raspberry, rose and bergamot that gives a sweet, slightly bright entry before spices take over. The heart layers cloves, pink pepper and cinnamon to push the scent into a round, peppered warmth, while a base of agarwood (oud), labdanum and patchouli grounds the blend with resinous leather and ambered depth. Created by François Demachy and marketed for men, the perfume reads as a soft, sweet oud with prominent spice and rose facets. Our take
I find Oud & Spice compelling when I want a soft, spiced oud that leans sweet rather than animalic. The rose and raspberry top notes add a lift that keeps the opening from feeling heavy, and the cinnamon and pink pepper warm the progression nicely. Longevity often lasts through the evening for me, and sillage sits mostly in a moderate band. It can feel close and safe compared with bolder ouds, which some fans like and others see as bland. If you want aggressive oud, this is not it; if you want a polished, wearable oud, it works well.

Acqua di Parma Oud & Spice comes in a broad rectangular bottle with rounded corners and shoulders, presented in an almost entirely black palette. Gold-toned lettering and a crest give the large black label a formal, high-contrast finish, while the tall cylindrical cap keeps the shape familiar. We find it handsome, though its conventional silhouette prevents it from feeling truly distinctive.
Original or Clone
Oud & Spice has enough standing to make the original a credible choice: three houses have tried to reproduce its warm-spicy, oud-led character, with rose also prominent in the listed accords. That attention establishes a reference point, but it tells us nothing about how any interpretation smells in practice.
