About Ajmal Aristocrat

The fragrance these clones are inspired by.

Aristocrat by Ajmal (2017) is a men's fragrance built on a citrus-forward opening that moves quickly into a dominant white-floral heart over a woody, musky base. Bergamot and lime with a watery hint of watermelon start the scent, while jasmine and lily provide the floral core. The drydown leans on musk, agarwood (oud), cedar, amber and patchouli, giving it woody and powdery tones alongside a clear oud presence. Main accords register citrus, white floral, woody and musky most strongly. With a 3.67/5 rating from 206 votes, it attracts a solid group of fans but also prompts mixed opinions about performance.

Our take

I find Aristocrat interesting because the floral heart sits over a warm, woody base in a way that can read mature or slightly fresh depending on skin. The opening is bright and pleasant; jasmine and lily are easy to pick out. What bothers me is inconsistent performance: some bottles barely project, while others last much longer. For the price it can be a good pick if you like white flowers with oud and musk, but I would avoid blind buys given the hit-or-miss longevity and projection.

A Closer Look

The Bottle

Ajmal Aristocrat’s bottle makes a confident visual impression. Its tall rectangular body, rounded corners, and transparent-looking amber-orange lower section sit beneath a large dark cap with a diagonal crosshatch pattern and bright reflective-looking border. The contrast is striking, making an otherwise conventional silhouette look distinctive rather than routine.

Original or Clone

The bottle is a real reason to take Aristocrat seriously: its dark, patterned cap and amber contrast give the release a more memorable presence than a routine rectangular bottle. Its market standing is modest but tangible: one house has attempted to reproduce this citrus, white-floral and woody fragrance. We have no comparative wear evidence, so that interpretation remains a reasonable choice; still, the original is the more defensible purchase when the bottle and its status as the named reference both matter.
