Released in 2018, Amber Oud from Al Haramain Perfumes arrived amid a wave of amber-oud releases that blended Middle Eastern resinous accords with fresher citrus openings. Marketed for both women and men, it reads as a woody-amber composition where bergamot and lemon lift an aromatic rosemary-cedar opening into a spicy, guaiac-wood heart and a base of amber, resins and musk. The scent leans heavily woody and amber with clear aromatic and spicy facets, and listener response is split: many voters have ranked it highly, while a notable minority find its character or synthetic edge off-putting.
Our take
I like the core idea here: a sweet, resinous amber with cedar and spice that can work for evening wear, but the name overpromises, I barely detect oud. Community votes mirror my view: plenty of fans, yet some people report a harsh synthetic turn or wildly different longevity. On my skin it sits medium-close with decent projection for a few hours; it never becomes the bold, leathered oud some expect. If you want affordable amber-woody warmth, try a sample first.
