The Bottle

Interlude Man gives the familiar Amouage rectangle a vivid cobalt-blue body and a broad flared cap with a blue inset. The large gold-toned ornamental medallion reinforces the theatrical mood, while the wide base contributes to its heavy feel in the hand and on the shelf. The cap is metal, with a reflective gold-toned finish that catches attention immediately. It’s lavish without losing its identity, and the blue-and-gold contrast is especially effective. A plain clone-oil bottle could hold the scent, but it couldn’t match this combination of weight, ornament and presence.

Original or Clone

The original makes a strong case for choosing the original: its amber, balsamic, fresh-spicy character has attracted nine interpretations from four houses, making its standing clear. It also has a credited perfumer, Pierre Negrin, whose composition belongs to this release rather than to any interpretation. We cannot judge resemblance between those alternatives from the available record, but the evidence supports treating the original as the defining reference, while an interpretation remains a reasonable choice for readers.
