The Bottle
Journey Man starts with a deep red rectangular body, then gives nearly all the drama to its metal cap, shaped like a broad fan. The cap’s red central detail neatly echoes the colour below, creating a more purposeful arrangement than the simple body could manage alone. An ornamental medallion sits above the clearly visible Journey lettering and supplies the expected Amouage flourish. It’s theatrical but still easy to recognise at a glance. I like the colour repetition, although the elaborate top will appeal more to decorative tastes than to anyone after an understated bottle.
