Find Amouage Lilac Love

Amouage Lilac Love is the benchmark for this scent profile. Alternatives may be worth comparing, but they are independent products and we do not present them as equivalent to Amouage's own fragrance.

They do not replace the original fragrance, its presentation, or the version created under the brand's own quality control. If that is what you are looking for, search the official site or trusted retailers below.

About Amouage Lilac Love

The fragrance these clones are inspired by.

Elise Benat and Nathalie Lorson, both experienced perfumers known for floral and gourmand work, created Lilac Love for Amouage in 2016. Marketed for women, it centers on a powdery white-floral heart where lilac, jasmine, gardenia and peony read alongside heliotrope and orris. Beneath the florals a warm gourmand layer of cacao, tonka and vanilla sits on a sandalwood and patchouli base, which tempers the bouquet with soft wood and cream. The scent aligns with Amouage’s softer, romantic side and has drawn mixed but strong interest, roughly 38% of voters love it while a smaller, vocal group register dislike, often noting formulation differences.

Our take

I like Lilac Love for its clear lilac and white-floral opening and the soft powdery quality that follows. The cacao and tonka move it toward a sweet vanilla finish that I find comforting on cool days. My issue is the patchy longevity: on some days the florals stay pretty and on others they almost disappear, leaving a faint vanilla powder. Community notes about reformulations ring true to me, batch differences change the balance. I reach for this in spring daytime, but I wish the midphase lasted longer.

A Closer Look

The Bottle

Lilac Love softens Amouage’s usual presence with a muted purple rectangular body and a white ribbed dome cap. The pale central medallion and matching lettering keep the front tied to the house, while rounded corners take away some of the shape’s severity. The colour is doing more work than the silhouette, which remains fairly familiar. It’s neat, coherent and easy to like, though the outline is slightly forgettable beside Amouage’s bolder designs. The result is polished and quietly pretty rather than dramatic, with the pink cap detail adding a small lift.

Original or Clone

Lilac Love has enough standing to attract five interpretations from four houses: its vanilla, floral and powdery character gives those attempts a clear target. The original also carries the credited work of Elise Benat and Nathalie Lorson, which matters when the appeal lies in this particular composition rather than a generic scent style. We therefore give the original the stronger case, while acknowledging that choosing an interpretation remains reasonable.
