Amouage Meander

The Bottle

Meander uses a misty pale-green body and oversized off-white fan cap to soften Amouage’s usual drama. The rectangular bottle is familiar, but the broad sculpted top, pale blue-grey centre detail and raised circular crest give it added personality. Gold-coloured lettering brings a small formal note without disturbing the calm palette. I find this gentler and more approachable than the darker blue versions, although the cap dominates so strongly that the body can feel anonymous. Its quiet colour scheme is the most memorable part, rather than the silhouette.

Original or Clone

Meander is a credible original to buy when its particular identity matters. Five interpretations from four houses have tried to reproduce its woody, powdery, earthy character, giving Meander clear reference status. It also has a named author: Mackenzie Reilly, whose composition gives the release a point of authorship no interpretation shares. We therefore favour the original, though choosing an interpretation remains reasonable.
