Aseel Special Edition by Arabian Oud (2020) is a bold oriental-vanilla men’s fragrance built around a rich vanilla-rose heart sweetened with caramel and anchored by musk and ambergris. The opening mixes orange blossom with ozonic mulberry for a bright, slightly fresh lift before the vanilla and rose deepen into a thick, sweet drydown supported by patchouli. Our take
I was struck by Aseel SE the first time I tried it and it only grew on me. Vanilla and caramel dominate while rose and orange blossom add floral lift; ozonic mulberry brightens the top. It is dense, very sweet and heavily musked in the drydown. The high community score and the many long-lasting reports match my experience: projection and endurance are its main assets. What bothers me is how easy it is to overdo, a couple of sprays work best in close settings.

The Bottle
Aseel Special Edition has a tall, rounded shield-like bottle rather than a conventional rectangle. Its apparent gold-coloured surround, black inset, white central label and circular decorations make the presentation ornate, while the rounded checkerboard-patterned cap adds a strong finish. The horse-like illustration and Arabic and Latin lettering complete a distinctive object.
Original or Clone
The bottle gives Aseel Special Edition a genuine advantage: its arched, ornamented presentation is unusually distinctive. The wider case for buying the original is modest, however. One house has tried to reproduce this vanilla, rose and caramel fragrance, which confirms some reference status but hardly establishes a crowded field. We therefore find the original more compelling for its object itself than for any demonstrated gap in the market.
