Tuscany Per Donna (Aramis, 1992) by Kenneth Ruocco is a women's fragrance structured around fruity top notes and a white-floral heart that dries down on warm woods and resin. Bright peach, plum, hyacinth and citrus open into a heart of carnation, jasmine, orange blossom, rose, violet and lily-of-the-valley that gives a powdery, floral center. The base of sandalwood, amber, vanilla, musk and cedar settles the blend into a woody-amber finish. Rated 4.29/5 from 520 votes, it is generally well liked, though many wearers note variation between older bottles and recent releases.
Our take
I still reach for Tuscany Per Donna when I want a soft, fruity white-floral that turns warm and woody on the drydown. The peach and hyacinth at first spray are bright and slightly powdery, then carnation and jasmine add floral depth before sandalwood, vanilla and musk make it cozy. I understand the strong love votes; the scent has a nostalgic charm. My frustration is inconsistency, some recent bottles feel flatter and shorter-lived than older ones, so hunting a good bottle can be worth it.
