Atelier des Ors' Riviera Drive (2019) is a unisex aromatic-woody release by perfumer Marie Salamagne that fits the house's fresher, daytime offerings. It opens on bright lemon with rosemary and marjoram, shifts to a green, slightly bitter heart where absinthe and cedar meet patchouli, and dries to cedar, cashmeran and musk for a soft woody-musky finish with a powdery veil. The main accords read aromatic, woody and fresh spicy with citrus and herbal character. Our take
I like Riviera Drive for its clean lemon-herbal opening and the cedar/cashmeran drydown that gives a soft, musky finish. The absinthe is faint for me, which keeps the green edge subtle. It is comfortable and high quality, but longevity often falls short and projection is mostly close to the skin, so it feels more like a seasonal daytime pick than a go-to signature. Worth trying if you want a neat summer aromatic, but I wish it lasted longer for the price.
