Gris Charnel Extrait is a 2022 extrait from BDK Parfums, created by Mathilde Bijaoui and offered for women and men. The pyramid opens on cardamom, ripe fig and black tea, giving a spiced-fruity top with a dry, tannic tea bite. The heart pairs powdery iris with bourbon vetiver and resinous cistus in a wood-tinged, slightly resinous center. The base settles into creamy sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla, tonka bean, cedar and Indonesian patchouli leaf for a warm, sweet-woody drydown. Our take
I like how the extrait amps the wood and vanilla, fig and tea keep it interesting up top while iris and sandalwood make it creamy and close; it lasts and projects well, though the price made me hesitate.
