The opening pairs sharp caraway and cardamom with dry Virginia cedar and vetiver, then yields to a heart of resinous incense, patchouli and smoky papyrus. A wine-like rose and sweet tonka sit against musk in the base, producing a dry, warm spicy-woody scent with clear oud and leather character. Our take
I like Black Ebony for its uncompromising, black oud character; the leather and wine-like rose give it depth beyond a simple resinous oud.
