The Bottle
Vivid coral red immediately separates Anguish from Boadicea’s more gilded bottles. Pale interlaced motifs circle a dark centre, producing a crisp medallion against the rounded body. The broad metal cap has a silver-coloured finish, which contrasts sharply with the red rectangular foot below. This bottle is heavy, with the thick red base providing a visible reason for that judgment. It’s bold and theatrical, but the limited palette keeps the decoration relatively focused. I find it easier to take in than some of the house’s more densely embellished designs.
