Resplendent is a 2019 release from Boadicea the Victorious for women and men. The composition opens with saffron, absinthe and olibanum, which give a bright, slightly bitter green bite layered over a heavy incense core. In the heart, Chinese osmanthus, Egyptian jasmine and Indian tuberose bring creamy, fruity floral facets that temper the spice. The base pairs tonka bean, labdanum and amber to deliver a warm, resinous, lightly powdery finish with vanilla warmth. The overall profile reads amber-forward with warm-spicy and aromatic accents, and 67% of voters mark it among their favorites.
Our take
I like Resplendent for its dense incense and amber backbone and the way jasmine and tuberose sit on top without turning sweet. Longevity and sillage are excellent on my skin, matching the strong performance most wearers report, but the absinthe note can add a metallic bite that some will find sharp at first. It leans a touch feminine while remaining wearable for men. Price and the obvious similarity to other house releases mean I often sample before committing to a full bottle.
